The War on Coffee and Energy Drinks

Coffee needs no introduction when it comes to the benefits it has provided us. It has established itself by creating a rightful place in our lives and a symbol of our society and culture. In terms of health, coffee has been the number one source of antioxidants for 50 percent of Americans all around the world and recent studies have also seen the abilities of coffee to promote weight loss.

We all know coffee is an energy booster due to its caffeine content and its ability to increase focus and alertness has made it a necessity for people who are always on the go. But many people who go to the gym don’t usually carry coffee along with them instead, they have energy drinks. From famous advertisements to promising propaganda’s, more people are actually getting hooked to these products. One problem, however, is that most of these energy drinks are causing different health problems. Sure they have fewer calories and pack more caffeine and essential vitamins, but these aren’t actually favorable for some people.

Over the past few years, researchers have discovered that some energy drinks contain excessive amounts of sugar and caffeine and certain harmful chemicals. Other countries have even banned some brands and health advisories for people who have a history of epilepsy or pregnant women were distributed. Though not all of these drinks pose any dangers to those who take them, precaution is advised.

Innovations on alternative sources of energy are all around the market. Effective products like Seanol Supplement or fiber enriched powdered drinks are also taking a bold step in hopes of challenging coffee. It is true that most products are tested before being sold, but making sure that what you’re using is safe is a very important step to good health. I think there are no doubts that coffee has proven time and time again that it is one of the best and healthiest energy drinks known to man.
