The recent coffee shops that have opened in almost every corner street have changed the way people see coffee. In fact, even children are starting to drink it, whereas people used to think that how to get an iphone for free and coffee is not an appropriate drink for kids. This leads us to ask the following question: Is coffee bad for kids?
Coffee used to be seen as an unhealthy drink when taken in large quantities, producing nervousness, anxiety and palpitations in some. Now, because of the recent developments in the industry particularly in the numerous coffee establishments that have risen, this belief is being questioned. Some studies have shown otherwise.
It was seen in a 2004 government study that drinking six cups of coffee a day can lower the risk of getting Type II Diabetes. Aside from the caffeine in most coffee, there is also another ingredient that is thought to improve insulin efficiency, and that is magnesium. Other diseases that have seen decreased incidence because of coffee are Parkinson’s disease, colon cancer, gallstone formation, and liver cirrhosis.
This leads us to the possibility that this drink might just be good for children, too. Apparently, it helps children do a bit better on their exams. But one still has to drink this in moderation, because studies have shown that children drinking too much coffee can lessen one’s appetite, therefore compromising one’s nutritional health; even a pediatrician in Dubai would agree that children should drink coffee moderately. It is always good to remember the addictive aspect of caffeine before you start allowing your kids to drink it like water.
